Our Metals & Care
At KinMarked, we believe meaningful jewelry should be made to live life with you—crafted from high-quality metals designed to stand the test of time. Every piece is created to mark the moments that matter, so you can wear your story every day with confidence.
We’re proud to use 925 Sterling Silver and 14k Gold Filled metals—both hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and made to last a lifetime with a little care and love.
Read on to learn more about our metals and how to keep your KinMarked pieces looking their best.
Sterling Silver
Our 925 Sterling Silver is a natural, precious metal that’s hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and timelessly beautiful. Like all precious metals, silver can tarnish over time—but the easiest way to prevent tarnish is simply to wear your jewelry often!
When not wearing your piece, store it in an airtight bag to minimize exposure to air and moisture.
Care + Cleaning:
Tarnish is just a surface reaction and can easily be removed. Gently buff your piece with a Sunshine polishing cloth or use a sterling silver dip cleaner to restore its shine.
We also offer our Tarnish-Free Guarantee—simply contact us to send your piece back, and we’ll be happy to restore it for you.
14k Gold Filled
We love Gold Filled jewelry for its perfect balance of quality and value. It gives you the look, feel, and durability of solid gold—without the hefty price tag. (Gold is now almost $4000 per ounce!)
Our USA Regulated and Manufactured 14k Gold Filled metal is made by mechanically bonding a very thick layer of real 14k gold to a jeweler’s brass core. It’s hundreds of times thicker than gold plating, creating a demi-fine finish that won’t rub off, flake, or discolor. We source our components from reputable suppliers to guarantee the high quality you have come to expect from KinMarked.
It’s also hypoallergenic and completely nickel-free—only real 14k gold ever touches your skin.
Care + Cleaning:
To clean, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft cloth after wearing. For a deeper clean, use a mild dish soap and soft toothbrush, then pat dry. We recommend our Sunshine Polishing Cloth to keep your gold filled pieces glowing.
Avoid dip cleaners, as they’re intended for sterling silver.
